We deliver core materials made of foam and FSC® certified balsa wood in various sizes in order to make the selection easier for our customers. We also have well-established distribution partners at our disposal, to take on first processing steps and create preformed semi-finished goods. The product name AIREX® is composed of the word AIR and EX for expansion. Air bubbles, which are characteristic for this material, form during the manufacturing process and increase the volume many times over - while the weight remains constant.
Specifically, our AIREX® foam products are composed of 50-96% air. This minimizes the consumption of raw materials as well as weight and costs.
AIREX® rigid foams persuade with their very high mechanical properties and minimal weight. When used as a core material between two thin, stiff face sheets they create sandwich structures that can be more than 50% lighter than conventional structures.
BALTEK® is a structural core material made of a natural, renewable resource - balsa wood. The balsa tree (Ochroma pyramidale) is the fastest growing tree in the world: a seedling will grow into a straight-trunked tree with a height of up to 30 m and a diameter of approximately 45 cm in only 5 to 7 years.

Very little energy is required to process natural balsa wood into structural end-grain core material. Mature trees are felled, cut into squared timber or stripped as veneer, and dried in the oven. The balsa wood is then sorted by quality, physical features, and specific density, and glued to form large blocks. These blocks are cut into end-grain sheets and then processed into one of the many available product sizes.

BANOVA® are high-quality, ultra-lightweight balsa veneer panels for structural components, interior fittings, furniture and display. BANOVA® offers minimum weight with high stability. BANOVA® is also combined with a variety of materials in order to fulfill additional requirements. Therefore, the adaptability of these materials is nearly unlimited.
Balsa trees grow in our FSC® certified plantations in Ecuador (FSC-C019065) within just 5 years and then are processed to lightweight yet sturdy BANOVA® quality-balsa sheet materials.
